Current options for long term stay (married to Thai, child under 18, under 50, no work required)

Featured Replies

Previously I just used Non Immigrant (B) Visas with the old 60+30 then a border run or flight outside, all good for 15 months if timed well. I still have UK companies to support such an application but London sometimes asks for Thai company introduction, which I do not have nor want.

I am flexible to demands, have money but am not 50 or the answer would be clear. Just wondering what the current options are.

NB

should note that child will not be residing permanently in Thailand, though child could be there in summer for a while. I also won't be there every single day but don't wan tissues with repeated tourist visa applications etc.

One option is the lower end new Bt500k Elite Card w00t.gifw00t.gifw00t.gif

If you live with your wife/child in Thailand you can get yearly extensions of stay if you have an income of 40,000 a month (can be from abroad) or 400,000 in the bank in Thailand.

Another option is applying for a multiple non-O visa in Savanakhet, Laos based on your marriage. Will need documents from your wife to confirm marriage (copies signed by her), and includes her household registration book.

Won't be in LOS for very long periods of time, certainly not 90 day stretches but quite possibly over 30 or 60 days.

I am in the UK, can I obtain this non imm O in the UK as I have no reason to go to Laos ?

I am presuming we can use this with a re-entry permit ? or do we not need one ?

You can apply for a multiple entry non-o visa based upon marriage to a Thai at the embassy in London by post or in person. Or at one of the consulates (but not Hull) in person.

The visa will give unlimited 90 day entries for a year.

There is no need for re-entry permit.

Have things changed at the Hull Consulate since December?.

Did you submit the outrageous financial proof that they have on their website to be able to apply for the visa. Many people have been told no because they did not have it. The embassy and other consulates do not ask for any financial proof.

Yeah for some reason they want to see an income of 65000 bht a month,i could prove 45000 plus threw in a load of bank statements showing a lump sum along side the income. They were obviously happy with this and granted me the visa.
