BANGKOK: -- Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha on Thursday asked journalists to report accurate information to help support the government's affairs and help reduce conflicts.

Speaking on the Journalists’ Day, Prayut said the journalists are one of the main driving forces of the country.

He said that the journalists are one of the main driving forces that pushes the nation forward through the accurate distribution, presentation and engagement of news.

He said that journalists can play major role in supporting the government's affairs, practically creating the understanding of government's policies to the public, and reduce the conflicts in the society.

Problem is they don't have any honest enough or smart enough people for the job, generally higher class thais love money over people & their country & that will take a few more genrations to improve.

In the meantime just hope not too much more damage & stupidity prevails :-S

Report anything AS LONG as it is nice about me!

Take a hike.

Don't you already have NNT as your Ministry of Propaganda, Uncle Too?

Prayut also said that journalist should present all sides of the story.

what a bold-faced lie. bah.gif

If only accurate information was allowed on this site all those who only post for a bash would be out.

Closely followed by those who have no idea of the subject they are posting on.

There wouldn't be many left, that would be great.

Digging a hole for yourself won't impress the voter's in the coming elections Prayut. Try keeping a low profile before your big head pops. And I thought Thaksin was a bad PM but this guy , jeepers creepers,, is an idiot.

Then all that would be left would be inane posts such as yours that add nothing to the conversation.

Go with the big hammer against corruption and go hardest for corruption of the own people and everyone will love you.

Now what is with the microphones?

Of course the corruption of TRT, PPP, PTP was huge and in compare the corruption now is almost zero, but the white knight must be without any spots....

I also wish for you to be happy, and I also wish for you to have desirable qualities of approach for any occasion.

everyone knows that thai journalists are absolutely pathetic when it comes to good reporting, they wouldnt know the truth/facts if it bit them on the bum and the fact that they make up their own stories when there is nothing interesting to report is enough to back what he has stated. Would be good to actually read a decent report and the truth instead of the crap we get now.

Yes.

The good reporting is few and far between.

But, you have to remember, these people are taught to live on their knees. whistling.gif

Now this, is a great report as far as I am concerned.

So does this mean mr PM that since you rode a motorcycle without a helmet that it is now ok for all to do?

Maybe he is as you say an idiot but does he care. his keepers are happy with him I'm sure.

OK - reform your defamation laws - repeal the criminal defamation laws because they have nothing to do with matters of the general wellbeing of the whole of society but are purely personal in nature and provide that any truthful statement cannot be a matter of defamation. Also provide for costs against anyone bringing a case for defamation where the statement complained of is true. Then you might get some better reporting. The are almost no good journalists left because everyone is afraid of telling the truth because of the backward inane laws that the elite have installed to protect their corrupt acts in Thailand

The military boys won't let the truth be reported? So how accurate will the information be?

Maybe need to set up a ministry for propaganda? To produce the information for the government that can be repeated and repeated until it is believed?

they just need to watch his weekly show and repeat it for the next 7 days...

Hardly possible:

PM asks journalists to report accurate information and help reduce conflicts

Junta chairman and Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha has warned that any news anchors or talking heads who present opposing views about his government may be summoned for discussion.

Digging a hole for yourself won't impress the voter's in the coming elections Prayut. Try keeping a low profile before your big head pops. And I thought Thaksin was a bad PM but this guy , jeepers creepers,, is an idiot.

Is that your own opinion thinking as a farang or the opinion of most of the Thais around you.

It really doesn't matter to Thais what we think or say as we have no votes or rights to effectively change the course that Thailand is taking. The same applies to places like the EU, UK, USA or other countries.

Each country has the right to decide its own future without external interference.

"report accurate information and help reduce conflicts"

Well, which one? Can't have both....

You'd be too lonely !! ?

Sounds like most if the women I know too!! But let's be honest he doesn't allow negative stories and you need them as well as the positives it's called balance!!

. A Thai version of Comical Ali live every night at six would be the way to go.

Maybe the General should stop censoring the Internet so information is freely available for verifying news.

The problem is, if the media tells the truth, then they will run afoul of the defamation laws. Or are they exempt? coffee1.gifwhistling.gif
