Former executive defends Dhammachayo

BANGKOK: -- Former chairman of Credit Union Klongchan Cooperatives today came out to defend Dhammakaya temple abbot saying he was not involved in the embezzlement of the cooperatives' 16 billion baht fund.

Suppachai Srisupa-aksorn, the former chairman, admitted only that he just borrowed money from the cooperatives to donate to the temple and its abbot.

He said 386 million baht was donated to the temple and 248 million baht to the abbot Dhammachayo.

He said the abbot had no knowledge of such huge donation because he wrote the figure in a cheque and put inside the envelope and gave as offering.

It was then processed by other senior monks to spend the donation, he said.

He said the borrowing was made through legal channels all the money had been returned to the cooperatives.

He insisted that the abbot was not involved in the embezzlement of the fund from the cooperatives.

Dhammachayo has been summoned for questioning by the Department of Special Investigation on March 10 for explanation of the cheques paid to him and the temple by the former chairman.

I wrote his name on the cheque.....but he wasn't involved.

I gave him the cheque......but he wasn't involved.

He cashed the cheque.....but wasn't involved.

Entirely plausible.

If anyone lacks and credibility it is this person

If the abbott is clean ... open the books and proven

If clean he should have zero to hide

Wow, Thai's sure can lie with a straight face.

I only borrowed the money, and the Abbot knows nothing, honest ... by the way, it wasn't me ... someone made me do it ...

All those donations have not done much for this chaps luck......

Why do these imbeciles try and put over such stupid, illogical statements.......and actually expect everyone to believe them.......?

8 year old kids have better logic than some of these clowns.......

And.....they're not very good crooks either......stealing so much money....giving to a temple to clean it......then get caught..........dumb Thai asses!!

This guy gets worse and worse, so many ridiculous statements with so many twists and turns. This guy gets the annual award for foot in mouth.

He says the donations were all returned to the credit co-op members. Well why are they still protesting loudly for the return of their deposits.

In a nutshell, who would trust this man with a 1 Baht coin?

How did he ever get the job of managing this cerdit co-op in the first place??????

They should expelled the abbot and his monks and demolish the temple and build a mosque.

Or, incarcerat Issara the mad monk and promote Buddhism in Thailand.

That amount of money taken out of Cooperatives? If I were a member of the affected Cooperative - I would demand for this persons head to roll.post-4641-1156693976.gif.pagespeed.ce.Jg

Bizarre statements - the mind boggles blink.png

Will you chaps wake up.....he said it was OK.

WHATS THE PROBLEM.

Since the monk was given stolen money, then he needs to give it back? Presumably the monk did not manage to spend 800 million baht? If he did, then he should say what it was spent on. Hopefully not 'expenses'.

Wow, Thai's sure can lie with a straight face.

. It was Thaksin for sure.
