Carnet for Cambodia?

Considering riding (with my son) to Angkor Wat- on another thread in Thailand Travel, it was stated that I would need a Carnet for my bike at the border.

Does anyone have experience with this? Where do I get one, what do I need.....? I've never even heard the word before!

I don't have the greenbook yet, although I do have my white plate. The greenbook should be in any time, they said about 2 months and it's close to that.

I don't know what a carnet is either but I just made the trip and all I needed was a green book in my name. I described the procedure for crossing through immigration and customs into Cambodia in my trip thread, you might want to take a look.

I rode to Ankor a couple of months ago via Chon Chom crossing. Couldn't be easier AND Free for bike!.

You MUST have ownership book in your name and bike is checked by customs both sides of border then all is well. Don't forget daytime running lights are not permitted in Cambodia (masking tape or cover is easiest remedy)

A carnet is a passbook for vehicles and you don't need it for Cambodia, as said, only the green book in your own name. Have a nice trip.
