BANGKOK — The Thai military government says it will distribute 10,000 free pamphlets to the public explaining the works it has accomplished since seizing power in a coup nearly ten months ago.

The 12-page gazettes will be printed by the end of this month and distributed at public transportation hubs in Bangkok, including skytrain and subway stations, bus stops, and pedestrian bridges, officials at the Office of Prime Minister said today.

There is also a plan to distribute the gazettes in provinces outside of Bangkok.

According to officials, the first issue will feature projects initiated by Prime Minister and junta chairman Prayuth Chan-ocha, such as the floating market and orchid market organized near the Government House. Other pages will be devoted to works and projects of different Ministries in Gen. Prayuth's government.

Gen. Prayuth seized power from an elected government in a military coup on 22 May 2014. He has consistently sought to deflect criticism about the military takeover and his continued use of martial law by focusing on the reforms and policy projects his government has overseen.

Please, Prime Minister, make sure that every farang on TVF, gets one of those also.

About time they open their eyes and ears to the good things you have done for this country already.

And please make it compulsory for the wives/gf's to read it to them as most of them can't even read English properly.....let alone Thai.

Thank you, Sir.

PS. Please PM, make sure that Anthony5, is no 1 on your list..........thank you 3 times.

In pre world war two Germany a famous German leader was fond of posing for pics with kids and dogs. There were also one or two other famous soviet leaders who posed with kids and dogs. I am now convinced of the benefits of the new regime. The picture did it for me!

I am sure the hard pressed taxpayer will be delighted at this use of their money. That aside, where is the need? The junta are to step down shortly after free and fair elections are held and are only in this for purely altruistic reasons anyway, so why the need to advertise themselves?

You must need the job of an editor in chief very bad, Costas. Any experience in this field? Or are you just a non profit freelance propaganda minister?

Will the achievements include all the infastructure projects and the reduced fuel cost prompted by the world price still be passed off as ' gifts ' to the nation ?

Does attitude adjustment qualify as an improvement to the education policy ?

Newsletters to outline state projects, achievements
THE NATION

BANGKOK: -- THE GOVERNMENT is planning to produce series of newsletters about its achievements and future projects for distribution to the public nationwide.

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha showed the first newsletter draft yesterday and said the objective of these press releases was to explain the government's achievements and future projects of all ministries and departments.

The first newsletter has 12 pages, with features on floating markets, production and sales of high quality rice and the orchid market, which Prayut has been helping to promote.

The content also touched on the 19 ministries' current and future projects.

The newsletters will be distributed at BTS Skytrain stations, bus stations and flyovers, plus Public Relations Department offices across the country.

Prayut said his government would also disseminate information about its work through social media, such as What's App. "The government will reveal information about the work of all ministries. People can find out details such as how much funding is used in state projects and which projects are carried out in which areas,'' he said.

Prayut said the meeting today of the so-called "five rivers" - Cabinet, the National Reform Committee, National Legislative Assembly, National Council for Peace and Order, Constitution Drafting Committee - would discuss what the five core agencies have been doing about corruption allegations and drafting of laws that will pave way for national reform.

Asked if he thought that red-shirt villages or villages where people uphold red-shirt ideology still exist, |Prayut did not believe so, saying it existed only in people's minds.

"Some people absorbed the ideologies deep down or were brainwashed because of what they had been given materially. By visiting some red-shirt zones and talking to people there, I believe the intensity of those feelings have begun to subside," he said.

Only stuff approved by the Junta!! He has a very big man crush going on here it's very disturbing really.

He seems good natured enough. Just uninitiated in the ways of due process, universal suffrage, human rights, freedom of speech, and good governance. He is like most people.
