March 11, 201511 yr BBC suspends 'Top Gear' host Jeremy ClarksonLONDON (AP) — The BBC said Tuesday it has suspended "Top Gear" host Jeremy Clarkson following a "fracas" with a producer. The popular TV presenter was suspended pending an investigation, the broadcaster said, without providing details.Clarkson, who has been in trouble before for behavior and remarks deemed offensive and provocative, was given a so-called final warning last year following a racism row.At the time, Clarkson said he avoided using a racist word while reciting a well-known nursery rhyme while filming the car show, but begged forgiveness from audiences after admitting that "it sounds like I did."The BBC said the program will not be broadcast on Sunday. In October, Argentina's ambassador to Britain demanded an apology from the BBC after the "Top Gear" crew faced violent protests for allegedly referencing the country's 1982 war with Britain over the disputed Falkland Islands. The crew was forced to flee the countryIn 2011, the BBC apologized to Mexico after Clarkson and his co-hosts characterized Mexicans as lazy and oafish.-- (c) Associated Press 2015-03-11
March 11, 201511 yr It Might be a publicity stunt to prop up Jeremy's irreverent image. Top Gear would be very different without him.
March 11, 201511 yr It Might be a publicity stunt to prop up Jeremy's irreverent image. Top Gear would be very different without him. I doubt that, the BBC have announced that they will not be showing the next two episodes of this series and the third and final show may also be cancelled. For Auntie Beeb to cancel a top rating show is quite a big thing. They now have to find something at very short notice that will fill the spot and not lose them too much of the ratings pie.

From what I understand Jeeza owns part of the TG franchise and could be part of a plan to get TG cancelled by the BBC leaving him free to take the show to another channel and not be in breach of contract.

Ezzra, you are still under the assumption that Auntie Beeb still has a grasp on reality, nowadays the BBC is run by morons. You only have to look at BBC3 documentaries and who the BBC choose as their political correspondent for Thailand to realise how out of touch they are.
March 11, 201511 yr Popular Post He is a d*&khead, but a very entertaining d*&khead. It would not be the same without him. With James May at the helm it would become another "Man Lab" - it has its high points but overall is quite dull.
March 11, 201511 yr Punched a producer, according to the Radio Times. http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2015-03-10/top-gear-series-postponed-after-jeremy-clarkson-punches-producer
March 11, 201511 yr Popular Post That's my Jeremy. I love the man and his attitude. BBC will regret it but not Jeremy. There are many other Television companies that are willing to get him and probably they are rubbing their hands now out of expectation.
March 11, 201511 yr Popular Post Pity the BBC didn't share the same enthusiasm over Jimmy Saville and his fellow paedophiles?
March 11, 201511 yr Popular Post BBC used to be good, then the pc became an epidemic. Now it's bland and it's news and documentaries unbalanced.
March 11, 201511 yr Top Gear is running out of fuel, there's no doubt. Maybe they feel it is better to crash and burn, father than be a breakdown being towed off the road.
March 11, 201511 yr May is boring, look at man lab Hammond is like a child, Clarkson makes the show, why does it do so well compared to fifth gear
March 11, 201511 yr This is the Beebs biggest money earner, to say nothing of the massive budget it gets. It's syndicated to more countries than any other show. Clarkson "is" Top Gear.
March 11, 201511 yr Popular Post Like him or not, he is a British Legend. He is a superstar Not, he is a British embarrassment. He is the macho man's Jasper Carrott

He's getting old, though, and the format is looking increasingly tired. He might be about to find out he's no longer as untouchable as he once was.
March 11, 201511 yr There is no show without Clarkson. apart from the fact he owns a big part of it, there is no way it could continue without him. However, there are many who say that this series is boring, lackluster and the presenters seem disinterested. It may already have " jumped the shark" and this latest problem will be the end of it.
March 11, 201511 yr My son, who is 48, loves Top Gear. I tried to watch it on two occasions and frankly I got the impression it was all about JC and others racing around in cars, that the ordinary man could not afford, going Wheeeee! as they executed a controlled skid. Maybe that's the attraction of the programme. By the way, my mom used to say that you shouldn't wear jeans when you were over 40!. You can see from this I'm an old dodo
March 11, 201511 yr Popular Post That's my Jeremy. I love the man and his attitude. BBC will regret it but not Jeremy. There are many other Television companies that are willing to get him and probably they are rubbing their hands now out of expectation. I wouldn't say I love the man, but he's very entertaining, and I've read at least one or two of his books. Political Correctness (PC) has got totally out of hand over the last 20 years, and I applaud anyone who has the balls to actually say what they think these days, sing the nursery rhymes they were sung as a baby (even if there is the word Nigger, in there, don't get me started on the use of that word!). 95% of his stuff is said in jest and attempts (sometimes poor) at humour. It's almost like women and black people have taken out a gag order on the general public, and I for one am totally sick of having to watch my P's and Q's every time I open my mouth in public, just to please the moaners and wingers complaining about jsut about everything nowadays! What's next? White people must exceed a set quota of black cars bought otherwise we are being racist? Will English be banned for use in schools due to it becoming a minority language? Will Policemen be hung drawn and quartered just for touching a woman? Come to that will any man? Will men be locked up as Paedophiles just for giving a child a cheeky chappie little wink? IF I complain to the RSPCA about the barbaric killing process of Halal meat, am I going to be imprisoned in my own country by immigrants? The World is going to hell I tell you! LOL IF he just punched someone, what has that got to do with his work as a TV presenter..... If the guy deserved it, pat him on the back, if not, lock him up for a few days, fine him, and send him on his merry way, just as they do with everyone else.. There are tons of lieing slimy politician for example in the UK tha could do with a good punch in the face! lol
March 11, 201511 yr Popular Post The problem is that television executives have got it into their heads that if one presenter on a show is a blonde-haired, blue-eyed heterosexual boy, the other must be a black Muslim lesbian. Jeremy Clarkson Read more at http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/authors/j/jeremy_clarkson.html#0Zy7yvmsejWzlgTj.99

I just pictured Jeremy Clarkson doing a show with a Black Muslim Lesbian co-host! Now I'd pay money to see that !!!
March 11, 201511 yr IF he just punched someone, what has that got to do with his work as a TV presenter..... How many people would get away with punching a colleague at work?
March 11, 201511 yr I expect its all a publicity stunt and a way to let TG catch its breath? They were still shooting this longer series as the season was running. Anyone notice in last two episodes JC doesn't sign off saying "see you next week" as he normally does? Probably isn't sure if he'll be ready or not!
March 11, 201511 yr Perhaps the Producer irrevocably F^%$#d up the La Ferrari - Porsche - McLaren shoot out.

He is the macho man's Jasper Carrott Is that British or English embarrassment? I think you're a bit too sensitive and far too PC. I personally think he's great, none of the PC bullshit you get from most presenters, he just tells it like it is and he certainly doesn't embarrass me.
