Re-enter on Visa Exemption - Soon After Tourist Visa Expires

Featured Replies

Hello, I'm a Canadian. I arrived in Thailand on Jan 14, 2015 on a 60 day tourist visa that was set to expire on March 14. Yesterday, I extended my tourist visa 30 days. I am now required to leave by April 13th. On April 13th I plan to fly to Siem Reap, Cambodia. On April 17th I plan to fly back to Thailand and enter on a 30 day visa exemption. I plan to fly to Japan on May 16th.

Will I have any problems entering Thailand on a 30 day Visa Exemption (on April 17th) ? I am worried that I may be denied because I stayed 90 days on a Tourist Visa and only left the country for 4 days.

I'm scared to book my flight from Thailand to Japan on May 16th because if I am denied re-entry to Thailand on April 17th, my ticket leaving Thailand on May 16th would be useless.

I am worrying about nothing?

Has anyone re-entered on a Visa Exemption so soon after their Tourist Visa expired?

Thanks so much for your help :)

You will not have a problem getting a visa exempt entry when your return. The only restriction is on doing back to back visa exempt entries.
