My present extension expires on May 13th and I'm leaving for Tokyo on April 24th so I'm looking for the best day to do my yearly extension at Chaeng Wattana in April. I'm assuming that the 16th and 17th will be very busy after the Songkran holiday and that immigration will be busy on the 7th after Chakri Day. I have a health checkup on the 9th and the 10th will be busy because it is on a Friday. That seems to leave the 8th as the only reasonable day to do it. I don't want to wait until the week of the 20th since I'll be busy packing then. The holidays make the first three weeks of April a difficult time to get anything done at Chaeng Wattana. Maybe my best option is to delay my departure so I can do my extension during the latter part of April. Any comments and suggestions will be appreciated.

You can apply for your extension up to 45 days early at CW meaning you could do your extension a early as the 30th of this month.

Thanks, Joe. I'll give that a go and take along a copy of my reservation on Thai departing on April 24th. Last year when I needed to do my extension 40 days early, I was told, "Never Again!" I guess the rules have now eased.

Going 30 days before needs no "excuse". So end of March is your time to go.

Best to get the re-entry permit at the same day after having the extension.

Thanks, I'll do both on March 30th. Reportedly, there is a long wait at Chaeng Wattana these days. I try to speed up things by getting my queue number for the re-entry permit slightly before my number is called for the extension, The timing has worked out for the past couple of years.
