Problem with Royal Institute Dictionary online

Featured Replies

For the past few days I've been unable to use the RID online at http://www.royin.go.th/dictionary

If I use Chrome I get redirected to http://www.royin.go.th/dictionary/mobile/ (Did it always do that?). And when I enter a query a blank page is returned.

If I use Firefox or Vivaldi I just get an error message e.g.:

An error appear while execute SQL

Error writing file '/tmp/MY0PNYwj' (Errcode: 28)

It seems odd that what appears to be a major service outage should go unresolved for so long.

My best guess is that there are two problems:

(1) The site is misidentifying my version of Chrome as a mobile browser. (That said, when I spoof the User Agent I get the same behaviour.)

(2) Nobody has bothered to clean up the temp directory on the webserver, so it's run out of space.

Any thoughts? It's all a bit frustrating.

Have you seen this?

http://royin.go.th/index.php

Looks like you now can/have to? register to get a username/password?

I haven't tried it yet.

Seems useless. No way found to register.

The "mobile" site also returns a blank page for me.

Dead!

I remember to have used this site:

http://rirs3.royin.go.th/dictionary.asp

an "old" version as it seems.
