I'm based in Thailand, and I plan to go for a 3 month oversea trip, and I'd like to exchange some Thai Baht to traveler's checks.

I could just go to the Bank and exchange Thai Baht (notes) into USD (or JPY) traveler's check, but the cash exchange rate at the bank is not the best, so I'd rather exchange THB banknotes into USD banknotes, and purchase TC with the bank notes at the bank, as the foreign exchange does not sell Traveler's check. Is that something feasible?

Or would the bank have to convert USD into THB, before making me buy USD traveler's checks with THB?

Thanks.
