Received mine today. The Amphur requires the following:

My passport - translated and signed.

Marriage Certificate copy - signed by both of us.

Blue house book of the owner and her ID card - signed

Three Thai people's ID card - signed

Phu Yai ID card and official ID - signed.

After two weeks, got the call to come down and sign more papers - stack aprox 1" high. I just needed to sign once, but the wife, the house owner, the three Thai people, all had to sign more than once. All of these signatures were required to be done on the same day. Originally they asked for all parties to be at the Amphur at the same time, but deferred and allowed one to sign aprox one hour later.

Phu Yai signed Thursday.

OK, after all that you will be the proud owner of the yellow book.

As I thought I would be when I got mine.

At least it would have helped me not to pay farang prices in parks and other sites.

How wrong I was........nobody wants to know about my yellow book.

Went to Pattayia botanical gardens.......500Baht for the farang, 250Baht for Thai wife.

Said.....here my yellow book, shouldn't I pay Thai price?

The answer........next time you come here we charge you Thai price ........now you pay farang price......

Still wondering what this book is good for..........

Still wondering what this book is good for..........

In CNX - DLT accepts it as proof of residence, so buy and/or sell vehicles is one thing ...

Open bank account is another ...

Am sure there are others.

My Thai DL gets me into Nat'l parks - well most of them - at Thai price.

But as they say - your experience may vary.

Posted to assist anyone who desires the book, and lives in A. Doi Saket

Not every Amphoe has the same requirements. Some will make every effort not to do one.

We gave up after trying several times at the Amphoe where my wife's house book is for.
