Maybe but that will not stop the irresponsible waste of water during Songkran. The Moronic element made up of farangs would have little compunction to use the valuable resource that doesn't even belong to them. The Government should step in and stop large scale wastage.

Not sure of up north but here in Rangsit there is a water shortage in the houses. Part of it may be the drought as the canals are low but also part of it is all the development and lack of water planning to make more available. daytime is shower by bucket and weekends upstairs of house it is bucket for water for toilet.

First photo is looking north from Ratanakosin Bridge in Chiang Mai. River may be low but looks like plenty of water. Travel north out of the city alongside the Ping for about 8 miles to place called Ban Namton?, Wat Witchit Wari and the river is very low and you can walk across it. Actually looks

like a good spot for Songkran.

A doubled El Nino effect is likely to increase drought. Given the vagaries of weather and northern influence, major storm systems may bring severe flooding as ground is bone dry and cannot absorb sudden deluge.

I just installed emergency (10hr) lighting and will order 2nd water tank. Have hook-up for genset also, in event of emergency.
