Your own math shows the O-A visa to be less expensive by 3700 thb.

Police record cost me 150 thb; medical certificate 180 thb; notarization 150 thb. None of those were difficult, time consuming, or inconvenient and everyone I dealt with spoke perfect English which made the transactions all that much simpler.

Good for you, but which in country you pay a medical certificate $6, an notarization $5? Multiply these figures by 20 and you will have what normally a Western expats pay.

Medical certificate cost is my co-pay...I have health insurance that covers the rest of the office visit. Postal Annex in the U.S. charges $10 for notary services...I had a coupon for $5 off of any service at Postal Annex that I used for this particular notarization but - even if I didn't - it would have been only $10.

Point being that I read on here often that it's "too hard" or "too expensive" to meet the requirements for an O-A visa. It isn't too hard and doesn't have to be too expensive and that's why I posted my experience - to offer the alternative viewpoint.

Proof of 800k baht in a Thai bank by way of a letter from the bank confirming your balance and your bank book plus copies to prove it has been there for 60 days.

Or proof of 65k baht income by way of letter from your embassy.

Or a combination of the two totaling 800k baht.

Copies of your passport photo page, visa, entry/permit to stay stamp and TM6 departure card.

Some offices will want proof of residence. This can be a rental agreement with copies of your landlords ID card and house book attached.

TM7 application form with 4cm X 6cm photo attached.
