Kingsford Charcoal Briquets

If you can't find Kingsford Charcoal, you might enjoy trying the local version of it. You can buy a small bag of charcoal and many local markets, for about 20 baht. Not perfect, but they burn well and do the job!

Thanks for the help - will trawl the shops mentioned to see if I can find them.

Competition briquets are different from most (including the original Kingsford briquet) as they don't have any chemicals/ingredient to help light off that are harmful. The worst thing they have is a touch of lime stone in them to regulate the burn.

I have tried many local versions to date but have a lingering concern - Who knows where the wood has been sourced from and what is in it (wood treated with insecticides ect) ? I have found nails + bit and pieces of other things in the ashes after burning the local charcoal.
