Hi I have a old iPad 3 and make backup all ready of old iOS 5.1 never updated coz I like the old design now I bought iPad Air 2 for my wife , can i transfer my old backup without any problems into iOS 8?

According to this https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203434 it should work but not the other way around, so new version to old version NO, but old version to new version YES.
