nocturnalK
I have a few used laptops that I'd like to ship to Vietnam as a gift to some local friends I met while traveling there. They're poor, and I think this will help with their kids education and future. 1 laptop is working. The other two are broken and need hard drive replacements. If I want to ship these, what's the cheapest way to do so? I can fix the broken ones, but would there be a case where shipping with extra hard drives could end up being cheaper? They practically have zero value without the fix. I don't know how taxes and shipping costs work out, so I'd be grateful to anyone who can shed some light on this. Shipping in USA would start in San Francisco.
Thanyaburi Mac
I think the first Q you should consider is that will your friends in Vietnam get stuck with customs duties for the laptops. You may say zero value as is, the Vietnamese Customs authorities may say a bunch of $$$. Mac
nocturnalK
I'll begin looking for information on customs duties. If anyone here with firsthand experience or knowledge about that, it would be great.
