Criteria for inclusion is Thai words (not menu items or loanwords) that are bandied about by ex-pats of any Nationality who claim to not speak any Thai.

Did I miss any?

amphur, amphoe -town, city

aroi -delicious

baa -crazy

baan -house, home

baht ฿

chedi, jedi -stupa

farang -Westerner

bplaa -fish

gai -chicken

jangwat, changwat -province

Kawp-khun -Thank you.

khaao -rice

Khun -Mr., Ms.

kwaai -buffalo

maak (maak-maak) -very much

mai bpen rai -You're welcome./It's nothing.

Muay Thai -Thai boxing

muu -pork

muu-baan -village; house development

naam -water, juice

puu-chai -boy/male

puu-ying -girl/female

rai -unit of land area

samlor -Three-wheeled vehicle

satang -Thai coin

sawasdee, sawat-dee -Hello.

soi -side street

som tam -papaya salad

square wah, square waa -unit of land area

talaat -market

tambon -town district

tee-rak -darling, sweetheart

tuk-tuk -Three-wheeled taxi

wai -Thai greeting gesture

wat -temple

yaa (yaa-baa) -drugs/medicine

dear sir - wasn't sure what these two were - and i am determined to master farang thai. what are they?

i would humbly add these to the list (as my friends who claim total ignorance in the language still use them all the time):

- hong naam - (restroom)

- ihm / ihm laow - (full)

- jing lor - (really?) jing jing - (really!)

- set laow (finished)
