Malaysian sim card

Featured Replies

Hi, I'm going to Malaysia for a holiday via Penang. What's the best 3g sim card please and where to buy it? Thanks

I have always stuck with Maxis and I have picked up a SIM at the airport (KUL), between the bottom of the escalators from arrival gates and before Immigration. Not sure if they have an airport presence in Penang but highly likely. There's a few new ones that advertise superior data services but Maxis also have a large office on the ground floor of the twin towers where you can also get SIMS, replacement ones, top-up or get technical matters sorted.

You will need to register your SIM ownership (great if your phone gets lost or stolen) so if you are not buying at the airport, don't forget your passport.
