Just returned from doing my 90 day report at Udon Thani . This was BEFORE I read that totally unbelievable story about 7/11 and 90 day reports cheesy.gifcheesy.gif

I was in and out in 10 mins and that was with the desk unattended for the first 5 mins.

My extension to stay expires on 6 May , so I asked if I could apply for extension today . I have read on TVF that some offices will do this up to 45 days in advance.

I was told by girl on desk that I could only do up to 30 days in advance ......so I will be making another visit some time this month.

Just as an aside ........................

I saw the attached ( hopefully) signs in the office:

Stated time for extension process: 16 minutes.

Actual time for extension process: 1 month.

It's nice to see them getting into the April Fool's Day spirit.....

Retirement

In that case I would refer you to the recent thread at http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/811803-retirement-extension-procedural-change-udon-thani/. You will probably be in for more than 1 visit to Udon Thani Immigration this year unless you are prepared to make a generous financial "donation" towards the upkeep of their tea club.

That is what bouph12 was in all certainty referring to in the immediately preceding post!

Thanks OJAS...................I read TVF regularly...............post infrequently, for what are IMO all too apparent reasons.

I am aware that Udon has a policy ( despite what the signs say), that you return after 1 month to get your actual "new" permission to stay stamp.

After I go for the "renewal" I will post my experiences ...............................if they are any different.

cheers

On applying before the extension expiry date.

Just returned from the Jomtien office after applying for a further retirement extension permission.

My previous extension expires on 6th May and I had no problems with submitting the extension request today, 1st April.

In and out in about 15mins (arrived about 2pm) and go back tomorrow afternoon to collect passport as well as apply for re-entry permit. Great service.
