TR 3 Entry Visa

Featured Replies

2 quick questions, I have TR Visa 3 entry, used the 1st entry Feb 4th, this gives me to April 4th to renew, can I renew it for 30 days on April 4, or should I go on the 3rd. 2nd ques. I'm living in Bang Na, anybody know where the closes Imm. Office is?

That is an extension, not renewal. Apr. 4th is Sat, which means you should go Fri. 3rd the latest, but you can go anytime in March. For all Bangkok the only location is Chaengwattana.

I'd go on Thursday mid afternoon if I were you, apparently there's a lot more people there on a Friday.

Thanks Paz, UK... Do you know an Immigration Office close to where I am in Bang Na (by Nations Tower)

As mentioned, Bang Na is in Bangkok. You can only go to Cheang Wattana.

Thanks Paz, sorry didn't notice the last bit of your note. Yeah I know, keep my eyes open! smile.png

No worries. There were multiple locations before, not anymore.

It depends upon what part of the Bangna area you are living. If you have a Saumt Prakan address you can use the immigration office there.

Thanks Ubonjoe, I'll work out which is closer. I assume I just go in there and give them my passport and the 1,900 Bht?

You cannot choose where you go.

If you have a Samut Prakan address on the TM7 application form you have to go to the office there. Which is much closer to Bangna than Chaeng Wattana.

If you have a Bangkok address on the form you have to go to Chaeng Wattana.

You need the completed TM7 form with an attached 4cm X 6m photo. Download and print 2 sided. http://www.immigration.go.th/nov2004/download/pdf/tm7.pdf

You will need copies of your passport photo page, visa, entry/permit to stay stamp and TM6 departure card.

This area of Bang Na is covered by Samut Prakarn Immigration.

Blimey, what a palava. Sounds like it would be best to just fly to Vientiane from DMK and come back the same day using my 2nd entry?

Not that big a deal. Just a form and a few copies and 1900 baht.

I think you are in Samut Prakan which makes it better because the office there is not near as busy as the one in Bangkok is.

As an aside I assume the TM7 is the card I filled out when entering BKK on my first entry, and the address I gave was

529-533 Soi Sathorn 11, Sathorn Road, Yannawa, Sathorn, Bangkok,10120 Thailand, it was the hotel where I stayed at before coming to Bang Na, will that make a difference as to where I go?

The TM6 is the arrival card you filled out. What you put on it does not matter when you apply for the extension. Only your current address is needed.

Ok thanks once again, I have now got a copy of the TM7, I'll try to keep the paranoia questions down to a minimumsmile.png

Hey guys, I was told three times on TV to go to Samut Prakan Immigration to extend my visa... after 3 hours of waiting they tell me I should have gone to the Bangkok Office. I told the Immigration Officer this was going to make me overstay, she said she understood that but it would be OK, just show up at the Bangkok office next Tuesday and they will just extend my visa without saying anything and no fines... Is this correct, even though I will have overstayed 4 days?

Did you have a changwat (province) Samut Prakan address on the form?

Since your permit to stay date is tomorrow the 4th which is a Saturday and immigration will not be open until the 7th you will not charged for an overstay if you apply for the extension on the 7th.

Sorry Ubonjoe, yes I did have a Bangna, Bangkok address, I simply described my location to you guys as being close to the "Nations Tower" in Bangna, but if I'm still OK with Immigration then that's a big relief, I have to say I find it strange that Imm. would take Easter Monday off though!

It is a Thai holiday on Monday not Easter.

Is the following the correct address for me to extend my TR3 Visa, I have a Bangkok address.

Immigration Division 1 Office, Chalermprakiat Government Complex, Chaengwattana Rd (soi 7), Laksi, Bangkok.

Thanks for your attention to this.

Map and info for getting there is here. http://bangkok.immigration.go.th/en/location1.html

Muchos Gracias for the help with my 30 day visa extension etc., Finally got it about noon today! :)

As you know I have a TR3 and have used the first entry, But they stamped in my passport today (along with the normal stuff extending my stay 30 days) the following"To keep your stay permit re-entry permit must be made before leaving Thailand."

My question is : Do I have to do this given I would be coming back on my second entry of the TR3? I have searched the TV Data Base and found nothing that answers my question exactly, I'm sure it's there, but I can't find it..

BTW.

Anyone else reading this should take note, don't leave anything to the last minute, there's always something that could go wrong, remember Murphys Law.

Thanks.

You don't need a re-entry permit.

So what does that paragraph mean to me since Thai Imm. put it there?

It means nothing to you. You do not need a re-entry permit to use further entries of your visa.

Ok, so I guess the point is that if I leave Thailand next week and then want to come back still using my 30 day extension I would have to apply, but since that's not going to happen and I'm going to Cambodia at the end of my 30 day extension window, and use the second entry to re-enter then everything is fine.

Hey guess what, I'm finally getting the hang of this thing... Thanks to you guys. Big hoorah! :)

No problem enjoy your stay and trips!
