It's a mission getting hold of these in the UK as all the Thai restaurants snap them up as soon as they come in.

I got some yesterday and was wondering if anyone has had any success germinating the seeds inside them?

I don't know whether to let one rot and then plant it, scrape out the seeds and plant or dry the seeds and plant or try all 3 methods.

Any advice would be appreciated on the best way to grow them, maybe your wife knows?

They grow like weeds on my plot in Isaan. I am digging them out and putting them in the compost heap all the time. I have never planted a makua puang seed but they grow. I think that they must be distributed by birds or some other animal that eats them.

I don't know as a fact, but think it highly likely that when they are harvested for eating, it is before viable seeds form and I would think that it will be difficult to grow seed from the ones that you have bought.

Please try and report, I am happy to be proved wrong.
