Triple entry visa questions

Featured Replies

Hello everybody,

I've done some reading about the triple entry visa for Thailand and I'd like to ask a question regarding staying in Thailand for the whole aprox. 9 months.

From what I understand, I can obtain the Visa from a consulate in my home country. Afterwards when I fly to BKK upon entry I will start my first visa which is for 60 days and I will be able to extend it in BKK to an extra 30 days.

My question is, after the initial 90 days, in order to enable the 2nd entry I understand I need to leave Thailand through any border and come back. If that's being done on the same day, or if I stay in one of the neighbour countries for a night and come back, will I be allowed to enter ?

I read somewhere that it's too obvious to the border police and therefor I should stay at least 14 days out of Thailand before coming back and enjoying the 2nd entry. Is that true ?

Thanks,

J

When you do border hops you normally re-enter immediately.

You are not trying to trick anybody and is perfectly legal ad admissible.

It is a pathetic situation (visa runs) but that's the way it works. You can't come to Thailand for more than 3 months as a tourist without being forced to leave the country and return to activate a visa.

With a visa you can leave and re-enter on the same day and you shouldn't encounter any issues. Those using visa exempt entries can get hassled from time to time and may be subjected to additional scrutiny but that doesn't affect those on tourist visas.

It is. Good to remark to those that are new to the matter.

Following up with another question:

If after 9 months I go back to my home country Thailand consulate, will I be able to get another 3 entry visa and go for another round of 9 months ?

Thanks,

It depends on your home countries Thai consulate policy in relation to back to back triple entry tourist visas.

In theory, yes, it can be done.

Where will I be able to obtain such information about the Israeli Thailand consulate ?

I don't think you will have a problem getting another visa. Embassy website; http://www.thaiembassy.org/telaviv/

You could also get a 2 entry tourist visa in Laos after your 3 entry visa if you didn't want to go back home after it ends. Then go home and get another 3 entry visa.
