pgs
Hi, How close is the BTS station to the bus terminal at Moe Chit? Practical with a 25kg bag in tow - or through whatever mud is about? Anyone have an idea how long the run would take (approx.) by BTS? Cost? Thanks Soooooo looking forward to coming back. Crossy
BTS to Mo-Chit bus station is a taxi job I'm afraid, particularly with all the Red Line construction at Bang Sue, it's only a mile or so but unless you know where you're going the possibility of becoming lost is great. If you do want to have a go at walking then the MRT at Kampaeng Phet is a more direct walk. You'll need to get the ARL from Swampy to Phaya Thai then the BTS to Mo Chit. Sorry don't remember the fares There may be vans at Swampy, perhaps someone else could assist.
pgs
Thanks for that. I used taxi last time, was just checking if there was a quicker way.
allane
Get off the northbound BTS at Saphan Kwai, NOT at Morchit Station. Exit on the west side (left hand side when facing the direction of travel.) From there, city buses # 3 and 77 go into Morchit bus station, where they terminate. The route is long and convuluted. Allow about 15 - 20 minutes from the time you board the bus. Note: This can also be done from Morchit BTS station, but this option is not recommended for newcomers. In the case of the # 77, both northbound and southbound buses stop at the same stop. Presuming that you can not read the Thai destination signs on the front of the bus, you could get on the wrong one. Better to board at Saphan Kwai. mike2011
If you take the airport train to Makasan and then the MRT to Kampang Pet you can get a taxi taking you to Morchit for 40 baht. I would not walk in the sun the distance much less with 25 kgs. If you go to Isaan the airport bus terminal might have suitable connections for you. asanee
Along Asoke/Ratchda, thus also passing Makkasan, is citybus 136-only red nonAC, that runs above the MRT and also below Mochit BTS and ends Mochit BUS=2. Can take ages in the peaks. From below Sapan Kwai, ONLY big 77 buses run into Mochit, also the 509 and 157. This is indeed shortest-they do not serve Mochit BTS,run direct into Kampaeng Phet. Tipical advice on buses given here usually restricts to routes <100-thats one of the main manco's of that site BKK transit-it lists only half of the buses.
