PM received list of allegedly corrupt officials

4-9-2015-9-26-42-PM-wpcf_728x413.jpg

BANGKOK: -- Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha said Friday that he had already received a list of allegedly corrupt officials from the National Anti-Corruption Commission of the Government Sector.

The prime minister said that he had not seen the list yet but admitted that there were some directors-general among the list. For the next step, he said he would call a meeting of officials of the agencies whose men appeared on the list for a discussion on how they would deal with the cases.

Asked whether Section 44 would be invoked to deal with some of the cases, the prime minister explained that the law only empower military personnel to serve as civilian law enforcement officers to help their civilian counterparts in order to speed up the cases.

He said that ordinary laws would still be used to deal with the cases to ensure fairness to all concerned.

Meanwhile, government sector’s NACC secretary-general Prayong Preeyachit said that there are 100 officials in the list that he submitted to the prime minister for consideration.

He added that his agency would wrap up similar list every month for submission to the prime minister.

  • the list of uncorrupt might end up being a shorter list.

  • The list of "un-corrupt" officials, politicians, officers of the RTP, and officers of the Thai military would look like this.

Great! So at that rate, it would only take them about 100 years to get through all the government officials who belong on those lists...

...and those on the list that ever had red/PTP leanings will of course be dealt with strictly according to the letter of the law.

How can a man with a rubber face "return happiness to the people" ??

Of course. Some of those made enemies too. This isn't only about color, it's about enemies.

And that will be a change for the better, won't it.

More likely, get the process started. Military personnel don't have to worry about the repercussions of prosecuting somebody's "little mate".

The list would be ongoing. It is not just the politicians, but they include military, polices, civil service workers, businessmen, and more. They might have to dig up the graves for the investigation.

And so the nights of the long knifes begin...the arrest and executions of opponents......witch hunts ...lists...fear.

Insidious elitist purging ....they say one hundred but ten thousand most likely will be arrested....

Then YS receive ten years jail or worse.

My advice is monitor here the situation and be open to an exit.

This is the real deal.

War could be looming

Find irrefutable proof, and regardless of affiliation or connection to the powerful, let the law be seen to be done.............. Ya right like that is gonna happen, it may well be selected persons and token offerings to appease the masses, same as it always was.

All end up transfered to an inactive post like the police? Transfer to Dubai? Remain quiet in China, Cambodia, Laos. Stay at home, wait a week, return..as though nothing has happened?

If the huevos are going to be swung, then Swing them in duces..whistling.gif

Probably the most pressing problem in Thailand, sorting corruption should be numero uno on the agenda.

So do they use art 44 to give it the knock out punch, no that wouldn't be fair.

I recently read up about the Sakdina system, says it all. They are backward with little hope for advancement, they need to ask the French about guillotine design.

And how did a General become a millionaire on government salary?

And how did a General become a millionaire on government salary?

I think his family was rich long before or do you think Somchai from the rice field can get General without coming from a rich and connected family?

So the alleged 100 will be the first chapter in a VERY BIG book.

relax Countryman

It should not be lost sight of that all this corruption from business, politicians, civil servants and the monkhood would all have been forgiven had the amnesty bill been passed and the billions that they have scammed from the country and people would have been theirs to keep..

The country has those who came out and protested against that abortion of a bill (including the reds) to thank for stopping it in its tracks and making it possible for the corrupt to be brought to justice,

Ok here is a peaceful solution to all this.

Let's organise a football match between the best of Bangkok, probably Army United ( how appropriate) and the best of the rest, probably Buriram.

If Army win we get to keep Article 44 if Buriram win we get an election.

....and there's ten minutes to go and Buriram lead 3-1... Oh dear there has been an armed pitch invasion from the Bangkok supporters.

Oh well there goes democracy (again)

so much negativity, surely the "list"is a step in the right direction. And, can we expect all those complainers to now say no matter what the PM does we are against it.

The length of the list should have reached Chiang Mai from Bangkok, sorry can't read all that, too long, give me the first 100

  • Popular Post

This story is a beat up.

It wasn't a list it was a government department phone book

i wonder if the PM was in the least bit surprised at any of the names ?

I doubt it as those with noses in the trough all know each other and everyone has some black on everyone else.

Please use discretion in your references to the government. Phrases which can be considered as anti-coup will be removed. Referring to Thailand or the government as a dictatorship, military dictatorship or other such terms will be removed.

Nothing would surprise from this list , the impression I get is the left hand doesn't know what the right is doing , you are trying to stamp out corruption and then about turn and become pals with China, the king makers of corruption. coffee1.gif

You really should read about what history refers to as the "night of the long knives". Nothing like it is happening here.

Everyone knows the Thai government and civil service, including the justice and law enforcement process, are riddled with corruption. This is the first time in 25 years I can remember very much actually appearing to happen about it. Let's see how it ends up before condemning it.

The difference is the previous government, despite their nice photo shoots saying stop corruption and denying repeatedly that there was any corruption in their regime, actually did nothing to stop it. Primarily because they indulged in it and secondly they turned blind eyes for favors received. That was always at the essence of power and control in Thakin owned governments.

Your hyperbole is ridiculous. The poor and easily led won't be so easily conned to fight for Shin wealth and power anymore - they no it makes little difference to them.
