Thai Post Office and Lithium battery

Featured Replies

Hi guys, I need to send a Power Bank + bluetooth speakers to a friend in France and it seems thai post office doesn't allow to ship out any item containing lithium battery. Is there any other way to ship it out ? When I was in china it wasn't a problem. Thanks

i have recently sent a power pack to my daughter internal mail (Thailand) no probs maybe for over seas a content declaration needed

in other words up to you

on the other hand i have received such items from china via Thai post clearly marked as batteries again no probs

Hello,

We can send anything from China and Australia but NOT from Thailand.

Batteries and liquid do not pass airport Xray and there is no more SURFACE shipping.

Anyway you can try as you will be refunded after your parcel comes back, and maybe you will be lucky enough that it passes xray ?

Please report if you can do it.

Thank you.

Completely forgetting about the lithium battery, I tried to send a used phone to a friend in the Philippines. I labeled it as toys, not to avoid anything here, but because it would probably get stolen in the Philippines if I had listed it as "phone". Got a call from the local post office to come back and get my package, they copied my driver's license, had me sign a (the usual unreadable) Thai form and informed me I would have to come back to pay additional charges when they called. Made me feel like I was some criminal. Anyways, I don't recommend trying to send any out of Thailand.

had a shipment bounced last week - spent 3850THB to ship the second via DHL - they have extensive instructions for shipping Li-ion batteries on their website. Good luck.

Can't buy a Power Bank + bluetooth speakers in France?

If it's a gift, just wire the money and email them a link to alibaba.

I need to send back a phone to China for repair, but it didn't pass xray and returned. On the other hand, I sent unopened sealed phone to Germany and it was delivered without problem.

You have to send battery's via surface..or sea. They are a fire hazard/ risk for aircraft. No conspiracy here.

I am currently waiting the arrival of package with two Li-ion batteries for my phone. Ordered from AliExpress being shipped from Shenyang via China Air Post. Hope it arrives in Phuket.

According to who? My packages always arrive from China to Thailand or other countries via China post / Singapore post / HK post / sweden post / nl post and several other postal services.

You can receive batteries or battery-included products to Thailand, but you can't send Them.

Besides, I argued with post-office branch owner, he says batteries can not be send via surface/sea either.

Arrival is no problem. Departure is the problem.

God help you if you ever buy a phone with built-in (non-removable) battery and if you ever want to send it back for repair or refund to China.

There are new international rules regarding batteries coming in and Thailand is ahead of the game, the Thai DCA has already amended their rules for shipping lithium ion batteries by air.....no conspiracies or Thainess going on the rules worldwide are changing thats all

I recently sent a hearing aid with a 1.20 watt battery inside the hearing back to the U.S.. IT bounced back. I than removed the battery and resent it back to U.S. for repair. The hearing aid is now repaired and configured with the new battery installed. If the battery is removed i am afraid it will loose its adjustments. Is there a way to send the pkg. less than 8 oz.. from the U.S. to Thailand. ????? U.S. mail, Fed x DHL ???  I originally sent it via Thailand post EMS which then turns it over to U.S. Post Office  any suggestions ????
