Yes they should arrest the nudists and send them for attitude adjustments and not let them leave Thailand until they pass a "Thainess" test

While they are at it they can go to NANA and walking street and arrest all the Thai bar girls walking around in their nickers

Mush ado about nothing

............Or lifting their miniskirts to reveal no knickers.

An advice to the Thais commenting on Facebook.

You should be more concerned and examine your culture and habits before being so upset about 2 naked people.

Look into the domestic violence, rape of minors, abandonment of children and families and other wrongdoings, happening daily in your country and then start worrying about this.

Hypocrisy, comes to my mind.

Do you think just because they comment on the wrong of this that they don't care about the things you mentioned?

Rather hypocritical a foreigner coming to live in Thailand, probably with no aspiration to get citizenship or even permanent residency, and tell the Thais what and what not to do.

If they cared, they would not do these very things themselves.

You have not seen any naked Thais this Songkran? I have.

The hypocritical thing is exactly as Costas says.

Last year there were two thai girls caught on video being indecent. Read half naked. After a while they reported themselves to the police, we're given a 500 baht fine and apologized on national tv for their behavior. So where is it wrong to point out those breaking the law? Are you seriously thinking/suggesting saying that "just leave it because other problems aren't solved yet"? Is your excuse? What world are you living in? We live in a new era which is dominated by social media, learn to deal with it!!!

I was at a crowded market once in the country side and there was a mentally disturbed Thai man walking around the market completely naked. Nobody seemed to care about him, like he was invisible or something. He was still walking around when I left the market an hour later. Thais didn't seem to be offended at all, there where numerous woman and children there.

...after everything I have read about....and experienced....about 'Thai Culture'....I can only say 1 thing:

EDIT... Shouldn't that be "two farangs" ... or is Thaiglish the lingua franca of TV these days?

If they did that in their respective countries they would also be arrested, let's show some respect for other people. Still a great excuse to get some Thai bashing in.

To a degree I agree with you but as I was always told when I was young' two wrongs do make make a right'. Yes there is domestic violence etc here in Thailand just as there is in many if not all parts of the world but I would not advicate the law turn a blind eye say to someone walking down Oxford Stree in London naked or anywhere else. My answer to these two farangs is '" if you can't take the drink then stay sober " and don't make being drunk an excuse

I once had the misfortune while visiting the wife's family, to see her grandmother, who was 98 years old at the time, come out of the shower with only a towel around her waist. Some things can never be unseen.

On the other hand, perky breast should be allowed if not encouraged. The saggy ones should be kept covered, if not fined.

The Ministry of Hypocrisy out in full force again!!

In a country where it sometimes is more difficult to buy a pack of fags, than it is to rent a hooker................

Perhaps you should have said "....more difficult to buy liquor at 7-11 than...........?

There are plenty of packs of fags in Thailand, many in Pattaya.

1. An extremely annoying, inconsiderate person most commonly associated with Harley riders.

2. A person who owns or frequently rides a Harley.

" Look at that fag riding that Harley."

"Why are these fags always so loud."

urban dictionary

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Fag

fag in English means gay , faggot !

there is 10% gays in every society

and many more IDIOTS... say 70%

I take it all those that complained have never been in a Pattaya club at night then ? Double standards apply. Ok it was wrong but you can see a naked girl anytime in Thailand if you know where to go. Sort your own house out first I say !

We are all here by invitation for R & R Renting hookers & Riding hookers and when this first started in the 60’s no one bothered to complain about nudity on any social media, I have a picture some ware. of a very scantly clad Thai lady on Soi 6 Pattaya with a large sign round her neck with buy one drink free blow job buy to drinks free <deleted>. and No uproar

You really are a prize clown - your little list happens in EVERY country on this planet !!!

Infact isn't the history of your country littered with grown men taking a fancy to younger men ?

Err... I'm afraid that implying that Greeks are homosexual kiddie fiddlers actually makes YOU the prize clown.

Hint... Fight fire with water ...not fire.

PS.. Ronald McDonald sends his wishes.

I can’t understand all that outrage over two nude tourists. At my age I should probably also express some criticism however I cannot. In my younger days and that goes back over 40 years now, I had to do my service in the navy and coming from a country where nudity in public still was an offence, getting with the navy abroad gave me a different outlook. When visiting France and Sweden during that time I saw people at beaches that had been wearing the same cloths as the two tourists in Bangkok and Pattaya, nothing, without causing a public outrage.

A few years back I got caught in a traffic jam in Europe on my way to the airport by a group of cyclists travelling in the nude to demonstrate for something (I don’t know the reasons) and given a police escort to ensure they could demonstrate. The taxi driver made clear to me how he felt about it and trust me it wasn’t the nudity that concerned him but the luck of lanes for cyclists to avoid traffic jams.

What I am trying to say is that whenever I come to Thailand I feel that I have travelled back in time when it comes to issues like the one mentioned in the article. In my country someone walking the road in the nude on a normal working day would not make it into the papers. The only way to achieve that is by running onto a football pitch in front of cameras and 50.000 spectators. The charges that person would face certainly wouldn’t be because of nudity but of causing public disorder to trespassing or any other reason one could find in the law books.

Still coming to a country where the rules are different we should obey these rules even if it means to leave behind some of the habits we got accustomed too.

I'm guessing the minister of culture has not taken time to look at the Bangkok Craigslist page. The advertisements there leave little to the imagination.

Costas your right on the money. Any of the above crimes are way more serious than a couple drunks parading around naked. Songkran itself has turned into a noisy self centered waste of a rapidly depleting resource far removed from its original intent. Hedonism comes to my mind. The whole thing reminds me of what Moses faced when he came down from the mountain with the 10 commandments in the movie starring Charlton Heston. Thank God it is sounding its deathnell for this year. Any tee shirts around saying " I Survived Songkran 2557"
