Thai embassy opening

Any information available on opening at the embassy in Vientiane on May 4,5,6?

I'm assuming they're shut on the 5th, so my plan is to submit on the 4th and pick up on the 6th. I've no choice ? I'm just hoping its ok. Maybe I'll get lucky and there's no one there and I can get same day..lol

Their calender shows them as being open on the 4th but I would not count on it being open. The 4th is a additional holiday approved by the cabinet.

Savage. My visas up on the Sunday 3rd. Will they care much about 3 days overstay? Cos if they don't mind I don't.

I've got 2 small 'previous' and a big one in my passport already so I don't want it to look like I'm taking the p***.

You could apply for a 7 day extension, pay the 1900 baht fee and be given 7 days to leave.

Better and not much more than a 3 day overstay will cost.

Can you always get 7 days, regardless of visa and previous 30 day extension?

I went to do it in my local immigration and was told no a few years back. Is it new or do I have to go to bkk?

Is Kanchanaburi border open for in and out? I could get 30 days there for the price of the petrol and Burmese visa.

It is certainly not new.

You should be able to get it at any immigration office. It is a denied extension application and they give you 7 days to leave.

Edit: The crossing at Ban Phu Nam Ron is open.

The border seems better now. And its open Friday 1st. Or do I have to go to Kan immigration before to get a special pass?

If your visa/extension expires on a day imm is closed, they don't charge overstay as long as you go there the first day they are open.

The crossing is open everyday. Reports are that it is very busy on weekends.

You will pay a total of 900 baht for transport across no mans land and the border pass.
