BANGKOK: -- A SECRETARY to national police chief Gen Somyot Pumpanmuang was found dead in a Thung Song Hong police flat in Bangkok's Lak Si district on Friday, while the body of her police husband was found - hanging from a tree - in a wooded area on Mitraparp Highway in Nakhon Ratchasima's Pak Chong district yesterday.

Police Sergeant Napapat Nuan-eiad's body was found on Friday with blunt force trauma to the head, two days after she was killed, inside the room where the couple stayed for three months.

Napapat, 29, had missed work for two days without prior notice, so her colleagues were suspicious and sent someone to check on her. They found her body but her husband, Police Sergeant Natthapong Nuan-eiad, was missing.

Police spokesman Pol Lt Gen Prawut Thavornsiri said Natthapong used to work at Somyot's office during the time Somyot was a deputy national police chief but the hot tempered Natthapong was later transferred to his affiliation command.

Napapat had asked for a transfer to Uthai Thani Highway Police command, and Natthapong had sought the same transfer, Prawut said. But the 31-year-old Natthapong found out that his name was not on the transfer list, so he was reportedly angry and argued with his wife, committed the crime and fled, Prawut said. He said Somyot's old name card was pinned to a tree near Natthapong's body. He said Natthapong might have felt slighted.

Napapat's elder sister Pichaporn Boonrung said Napapat had been with Natthapong for two years and registered their marriage last May. "As far as I know, the man was hot tempered and jealous so he often argued with my sister to the point of assault once," she said.

The police autopsy found her sister was strangled and hit on the head with a blunt object and sustained a right eye socket bruise, she said. Her body will be taken to Lop Buri province for her funeral.

In Nakhon Ratchasima, Natthapong's aunt Ratree Phothai said her nephew was normally calm and tidy and she didn't believe he would kill himself to avoid punishment, as local police suspect.

Natthapong was believed to have died a day before his body was discovered. An autopsy will be done at Nakhon Ratchasima Hararat Hospital morgue.

The emotional immaturity of yet another Thai man on display.

The sad thing is these people are the leaders. What chance do the rest stand.
A Sargent is a leader in your mind?

At 29 years and 31 years old these were not leaders.

They were in the police force. A force that is meant to lead a country. Does that make them leaders or followers ?

You should look up to a countries police force. Tho I can see why you wouldn't look up to them in this country.

It is just possible that the wife knew something about her boss. She was SECRETARY to national police chief Gen Somyot Pumpanmuang.

It could be that both deaths wee arranged.

Is it just possible that this is just another sad occurance in a country that is not of your motherland, where murder suicides happen on an almost daily basis involving husbands and wives, and or loved ones.....why in Thailand do we always have to over question the reality of life that happens in every state and territory all around the world.

May both of them Rest in Peace.

And may be the husband will be judged by his creator when he meets him.

Now is all a sad history, what's the point of criticizing him or others?

He also got a family, left behind.

costas the country is in better shape without a shit like this still stealing oxygen..as for being judged by his creator thats his parents yes..

Why is it that every event, a murder, a normal death of an old person; anything at all; is blamed on Thai's or Thailand. He we are, TV posts questioning Emotions and Leadership of Thai's. All you need to do is to read the U.S news where everyday gruesome stuff are reported. Police brutality, gun violence, school kids murdering their own mates and teachers, even cannibalism. Why don't these bastards who whine about everything here crawl back to wherever they come from...

Leaders, are you kidding? Sadly, but they were just workers like postal workers. Crazy leaders are Boko Harlem.

This is a story of a Thai man murdering his wife. Why would we be discussing cops and school kids killing each other in America ?

Have you seen the news whenever a American cop kills a black man or a school massacre happens in U.S. school ? Have you noticed no one starts a news report by saying "this happens all the time in Thailand".
