If you weren't in Thailand, where would you be?

Let's try to not debate too much, its just a fun thread for the pub.

Try to keep it withing 3 different places if you can't choose just 1.

Spain, near a beach, with a plate full of Paella and a jug of Sangria.

Costa Rica for me. Not cheap though and does not have the same variety of food compared to all the dishes you can get here. T

If I hadn't come to work in Asia in 2002 , I would probably be in a pub somewhere with a few mates back in East London

I went back in 2006, 2010, 2011, 2012 for holidays and they were all still doing the same thing as we did when we were teenagers. Love them to bits though and miss the banter on a night out, but couldn't live there

10 years ago I HAD to come here and build a boat. If not I would have moved to SE Alaska, at least for the summer months. Now I summer in the US midwest and winter here. Leaving in 2 weeks.

Likely in Florida on the Gulf Coast.

Malaysia possibly if I could not live/stay in Thailand.

Burma/Myanmar if I was 20 years younger in these days.

Honolulu, Hawaii........Waikiki, 10 mins walk to the beach and Ala Moana, the best weather year round, hardly ever had to use the air-cond, just opened screened windows for the fresh ocean air.........but, a very high cost of living, but as Hawaiians say, it's the cost of living in paradise! :-)

And great real Chinese food!

Have any of you been to the places you say you would go? Just wondering if you are all speaking from experience or hearsay. Seems most of you have not included that which is making this a dreadfully boring thread with people just rattling off country names. Maybe some actual information would spruce things up.
