Question about 90 day reporting

Featured Replies

I was due to do my 90 day reporting on April 4 but was out of the country and got back April 18.

Was the 90 days reset to the day I re-entered (April 18) or am I overdue and should expect a fine when I report?

Also, if the 90 days was reset to April 18, when should I go in and report?

Thanks :)

You do not need to do a report of staying longer than 90 days in the country if you do not stay that long.

Your report will be due 90 days from the date you entered the country including that date in the count.

Your new due date is: 18 Apr + 89 days = 16 July

Spreadsheets (OpenOffice Calc, LibreOffice Calc, MS Office Excel, etc.) are really good at calculating dates. The first two mentioned are free.

I think there are also online date calculators that work quite nicely. For example: http://www.timeanddate.com/date/dateadd.html

Am I right in saying that the above answers rest on the assumption that the OP had a re-entry permit, without which he would have now found himself going back to the beginning of the visa application process? Perhaps it's implicit or understood .. if so, forgive me.

I don't think the above answers (at least my answers) rest on the assumption that the OP has a re-entry permit. Re-entry permits have no relevance to the 90 Day Report requirements.

However, you are right to note that if the OP does not have a valid re-entry permit he won't be getting into Thailand based on his current extension of stay, and would have to apply for a visa in order to do so. Pretty sure the OP understands this. The extensions of stay recorded in my passport are always accompanied by the notice "TO KEEP YOUR STAY PERMIT RE-ENTRY PERMIT MUST BE MADE BEFORE LEAVING THAILAND."

No, the question asked was about 90 day reporting.

Whether or not he had a re-entry permit is a different question. If he can legally stay in the country for 90 continuous days, then, as Ubonjoe (and others) very succinctly summed it up:

You do not need to do a report of staying longer than 90 days in the country if you do not stay that long.

However he may manage it, if he's legally here for more than 90 days, he must report. If not, then no need.
