PM briefed on Thailand preparation for AEC

BANGKOK, 8 May 2015 (NNT)- Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha has been briefed on Thailand's preparation to be part of ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) today.

Prime Minister Prayut has been briefed on the progress made in 3 major areas, including politics, economy and culture. It has been reported that 90% of the preparation for the AEC has been completed.

The Prime Minister has instructed Deputy Prime Ministers to follow up on the progress of the preparation in the areas of their responsibilities and to closely monitor anti-drug and human trafficking efforts during the transition period.

Thailand is expected to come up with a ten-point vision before the regional integration takes shape at the end of this year. Thai citizens must also be informed of the benefits they stand to derive from the AEC.

This will be interesting! 90% ready.

90% ready as long as you speak/write Thai

Well since they have abolished poitics and culture is whatever they dictate, I don't suppose it took them long.

Whoever crossed into Lao PDR at the friendship bridge from Nongkhai will see the difference between the Thai and the Lao immigration; two generations apart - in favour of the Laotians!
Way to go - and the 90%, well, see you further first giggle.gif

What please what are the benefits of the AEC ?

Have mercy- the calculation of percentage never was a favorite lesson in schools over here.

Btw the dear leader makes one statement about heroic achievements after the other and Costas keeps quite for days already. I hope none of you may have (accidentally) pushed him off the balcony…

I was working with Bank Thai when they were taken over by the Malaysians and changed to CIMB Thai. All meetings and ihouse communications were changed from Thai to having to be in English. It was painful to watch. And these were people with Master's Degrees and 20 years of learning English. Dealing with the Malaysian counterparts was like exiting a vacuum and emerging in heaven.

What please what are the benefits of the AEC ?

To whom?

I guess it was a very short meeting ......

Thailand is expected to come up with a ten-point vision:
