FM launches new Arabic website

BANGKOK: -- The Foreign Ministry Friday launched a website in English and Arabic, skimming over a wide range of issues that includes Islam in Thailand and areas that could potentially a foundation for stronger cooperation between the country and the Muslim and Arab countries.

"The website was constructed to enhance the windows of knowledge on Thailand for a wider Arab and Muslim public and thus, would serve to promote greater people-to-people contact," a statement posted in the website said Friday.

The website, www.Thai2Arab.com, stressed the diversity of the Buddhistmajority kingdom by pointing to the setting up of Islamic banks, the potential of Halal food industry, and a quick glance of how Islam had entered Thailand.
