Use the Andaman Club services.
Comfortable boats every hour

And they just changed the complete fleet.

Very fast and new open speedboats now. Trip takes about 5 minutes.

Before it took at least an half hour or so in a closed boat.

How much is the boat to the Andaman Club these days?

around 900 baht. All-in.

If you stay in the Andaman Club for the night you get a refund.

I believe around 50% or so.

I think it's money well spend with private immigration and all

Andaman Club is the best way to do it - but............the mini-bus drivers can be lethal.

There is a golf course at the Andaman Club, so if you play you can take your clubs and spend a night there.

It is quite a pretty drive (4 or so hours) from Phuket to Ranong. All in all a bit cheaper than going to say Singapore or KL.

Hello!

I know a Dutchman who had a 60-day tourist visa with a double entry.

About several months ago he had to show 20,000B (or 500 Euros)

CASH at Ranong Immigration Office when he came back to Thailand

on his 2nd entry.

I'm afraid Ranong would be best avoided as a re-entry point.

Good luck.

I found this the most interesting way, compared to the dull Andaman club way....

Always drive myself. Much more enjoyable that way.

I leave Samui real early and back with the 6pm ferry.
