Prices of most commodities remain stable

BANGKOK, 15 May 2015 - (NNT), The Ministry of Commerce revealed that the price of most perishable items remained stable, while only chive and coriander have increased slightly.

The ministry’s Department of Internal Trade (DIT) reported that vendors in the capital are selling chive at 110 - 120 baht/kg, and coriander at 90 - 100 baht/kg.

The DIT also revealed that other items remained relatively stable, such as pork and whole chicken, which were sold at 122-130 baht/kg and 65 - 70 baht/kg, respectively. Number 2 and 3 eggs were sold at 3 and 2.9 baht apiece, respectively.

The commodities report stated that popular vegetables also followed this trend of stability, citing kale sold at 22-25 baht/kg, Chinese cabbage at 18-20 baht/kg, morning glory at 20 - 22 baht/kg, and cowpeas from 45-48 baht/kg.

Finally, cucumbers held at 30 - 32 baht/kg, cabbage at 15 - 18 baht/kg and bird's eye chilli at 50 - 60 baht/kg.

You can bet all the imported Farang foods and drink will rise in price,

due to the weakening of the Bhat, they were even going up when the

Bhat was strong, also notice some of the Farang foods I buy regularly,

are not to be found,a sure sign prices will go up.

Morning glory at 20 baht a kilo.....so for a 45kg its 900 baht......man am I getting ripped off!!!

I most agree with this topic - Stable.

STABLY HIGH!!!

Utter rubbish !... prices in Phuket are incredibly high. Perhaps the MIC should get out more.

Read the report again. MIC did not say prices are low, just that prices are stable.

And yet on May 9, 2015 Kasikorn Research Center indicated that the rising living expenses dragged down the household economic index, hitting the lowest point in 5 months, warning the public of creating new debts.
