Extend expired 1 year multi Non-B?

Featured Replies

I have a multi Non-B visa, and have seen out the full year, then did the last-day exit/re-entry to obtain a further 90 days.

Is it possible to get this extended for 7 days more?

You can apply for a 7 day extension, pay 1900 baht and be given 7 days to leave the country.

Excellent, thank you!

Will that be applied to the existing "admitted until" date (meaning I can extend before the last day & still enjoy the extra days), or will it be applied from the day I extend?

Your answer suggests the latter, but I just want to be sure.

The 7 days will start from the end of your current entry. There is no difference from a real extension in that respect.

A good news day - thank you kindly sir!

Shouldn't it be 15 or 30 days? Similar to extending a visa-exempt entry?

No

There is no extension possible for a non-b visa entry other than a one year extension. That is why it is 7 days to leave the country not a true extension.

No, only seven days are available in these circumstances (also just a one off) or else apply for a fresh extension if eligible.

Just a quick feedback for fellow travellers...

I left around 2pm, using the MRT (from Sukhumvit) to get to Phahon Yothin station, then crossed the park outside exit 3, to the footbridge under the Don Muang tollway so I could catch a taxi heading north.

This might have been unnecessary though, I now suspect a taxi outside the station would have taken me via the tollway itself and shortened the travel time.

Anyway, I arrived at the immigration centre (at the very back of the huge "ice-cube" building as you approach) at 3pm, having bounced around a few military men when the taxi attempted to drop me off elsewhere (100b).

WIth all the documents already prepared, the reception desk (to the right as you enter) quickly verified them, then sent me in to get a queue number. There was a bit of head-scratching as I didn't have a Work Permit, but in the end they sent me to zone L (later to discover it should be M).

Processing was quite slow, and there were groups of Asian gentlemen exchanging sums of money, swapping places, and accompanying Thai ladies... However come 4:15, the queue number processing suddenly kicked up a gear, and I was seen at 4:30 by an official who told me I was in the wrong zone. I had no cause for fear however, because she escorted me to zone M, and into a waiting cubicle where I was seen immediately.

All the staff were super-friendly, and very efficient (bar the first queue lady), so I left quickly and fairly impressed (1900b).

Outside, the queue of taxis which were present an hour earlier, had now evaporated, and I waited for about 5 minutes in a queue before realising that there were going to be slim pickings. Luckily there is a motorcycle rank there as well, so for 20b, I was taken up to the main road which was now choc-a-block - as was the exit route to get there. I estimate it would have taken some 20 mins just to get to the exit in a taxi, so was glad to give that a miss.

Once on the main road, I only had to wait a little more than 5 mins to get a lit taxi who took me via the tollway (15b) to Chatuchak Park MRT (115b).

Which immigration office is this?

Chaeng Wattana in Bangkok.
