There was an article in the English language paper that we dare not cite yesterday talking about the attempt to control the traffic on Sathorn because of all the parents that insist on driving their little darlings to school

Paraphrasing the article, they have had only 22 out of a possible 300 parents sign up for a program where they would pay to park near the school. According to Saksith Chalermpong, an academic at the engineering faculty of Chulalongkorn University said it was premature to conclude that the Sathorn model had failed, and was adamant many more drivers would have to join in. He continued on saying that as many as 2,000 car owners will join

What was interesting to note was that the idea of towing or ticketing illegal parkers was never even considered because we are talking about the elite and who would dare to enforce parking laws against them
