Elderly Frenchman killed

Featured Replies

This story is being reported by the Nameless Post, so I can't link it (no one else is covering it, it would seem). Basically, the 67yo Frenchman, who isn't named as yet (family not notified) was killed after a vehicle driven by a Makro employee and his motorcycle "collided" on Suk Rd near the Thepprasit intersection. The vehicles were travelling north and were in the outside lane. This was Sunday morning, but not sure of the exact time.

The Makro guy, named as Anek Pokaew, 39, told police he was driving home from work, and couldn't avoid the collision with the bike rider. The French guy drove across his path as he was heading to the u-turn at the Thepprasit intersection. The guy was dragged under the car for 50 metres.

Does anyone have confirmation of this accident?

There are a couple of questionable aspects to this incident. Why did the Makro guy go to the Thepprasit u-turn when there is one closer to his work? At what speed would a lightweight sedan have to be travelling to drag someone, and maybe the bike, for 50 metres before stopping? It seems the police want to know as well as they are holding Mr Anek for further questioning.
