Transport Min unveils progress in tackling aviation safety issue

BANGKOK, 18 May 2015 (NNT) – Minister of Transport ACM Prajin Juntong has revealed that his ministry has submitted to the Prime Minister a progress report on its work related to the improvement of aviation safety in Thailand.

Following the expression of concerns by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) over Thailand’s aviation safety standards, ACM Prajin affirmed that the restructuring of the Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) is underway and Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has already been informed of related developments.

The Transport Minister added that the premier has been requested to consider using Section 44 of the interim constitution to adjust the roles of the DCA and increase the number of personnel within the agency. If approved, all details pertaining to the DCA’s new structure could be publicized within this month.

As for the safety evaluation of Thai airlines, ACM Prajin disclosed that the manual used as reference in the process has been updated in accordance with ICAO’s guideline and it will be put to use on June 1.

Four Thai carriers, namely Thai Airways International, Bangkok Airways, Thai AirAsia and Nok Scoot, will begin to be evaluated on June 20 for approximately 20 days. The security checks on all other airlines will soon follow and are expected to be completed within early August.

It went something like this. Honest Gov. al those difficult governments who are concerned about our aviation safety I have met. Those Japs are OK because they still remember us taking the cash when 6 of them parachuted into Don Mueng in 1941 and we said, OK thanks very much, do as you want. Yes I know we didn't expect you to murder 60000 of our civilians who tried to help the PoWs but just let by gones be by gones.

Now the Koreans are being a bit more difficult to OK our records. I have said if they don't, we will throw out all their business from Suk Soi 11 and 12 in Bangkok, which as we all know are controlled by influential people and receiving 50% of the "take". But Gov, you know and I know you can't trust them to take back handers.

Now those Chinese. Well most of this country is controlled by the offspring of their ancestors so what can we do ?

Basically we are screwed and suggest we can only offer them more money, a big share in developing our railway, and of course allowing them to screw Thailand as they always have.

Sorry Gov it is not the best news I know you wanted to hear but if you look on the bright side you can always use the power of Section 44 to stay as PM for ever.
