Non-O Extension for Marriage (Proof of Income)

Featured Replies

Hello experts

I'm reading a few discussion that say I need to submit an Income Letter from the UK embassy if my income is from the UK, rather than in Thailand.

But these discussions tend to be about pension funds - would proof of property rental be admissible? If so, what would the embassy want to see? Bank statement or agency statement - or both?

And I can only source statement printouts from month emails from the agency + online bank statements. Would this be a show-stopper?

Thanks for your help!

The embassy will accept any type of income it does not have to from a pension.Bank statements showing a monthly income will be accepted.

Info on getting the income letter is here: https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/423129/Pension_10_02_15__Master.pdf

The embassy though may have you do an affidavit instead of the letter since you will be doing an extension based upon marriage. You should contact them to find out what they will do in your case.

I know for fact that the BE treat requests for statement of income letters exactly the same whether for retirement or marriage extensions.

These letters are only available by post .

One last thing... (where's me cigar?)

Do I also need to show this income arriving in a Thai account when I make my extension application? Or does the letter cover it?

I have seen a few post of people being told they needed to do an affidavit. They were married and under 50 if I recall correctly and were not using pension income.

The link I posted gives info about doing the income letter by mail.

So if I get the letter from the embassy, do I also need to show the funds in a Thai bank account?

If so, how many months-worth of 40k deposits are acceptable?

Edited by timbothaivisa

If you have proof of 40k baht income you do not need to show 400k baht in the bank.

I think the embassy wants to to see 3 months for the income letter. You might want to check with them.
