Then people wonder why some people call Thais ignorant! Imagine this in a G20 country!

Education would be the key to protect the marine life, but if no one listen's to the teacher, nothing will change. The oceans will be empty in 10 to 20 years from now anyway if not a large scale cataclysm will eradicate most of us humans before, eventually saving nature. This incident of the baby shark petting event is a fly s.... compared to what happens out at sea on a daily basis, i.e. shark finning, etc.

I am always amazed at seeing small incidents (especially involving animals) are causing a nationwide outcry while huge atrocities (mostly against people) are being virtually ignored. A mad world we live in...

I'm amazed at the way we have anthropomorphised these critters.

Have a look here to see the world sharks live in- with no human intervention at all. It's brutal. It's full of pain and death. It's full of sharks chewing up other fish and sharks chewing off big sections of other sharks.

Forget the fakes, forget the photos of human injuries. Have a look at the fish and the seals and the other mammals and the sharks torn apart by other sharks.

at 1 market in the north west they place the half dead fish on the slab and then put 3 cuts on each side of them while they are still fighting to breathe....i politely pointed out that was disgusting behaviour and was turned on by the locals....

of course one cruelty does NOT justify another.

he is simply making a very valid point, which is a good one.

its pointing out the MASS bad-treatment of animals goes un-noticed, while a small offence on an unusual animal gets Mass attention.

its ironic.

the mass mis-treatment shines a bright light on the mindset of these people,

in this way the "small" offence on an unusual animal might incite some feeling and thinking about this basic mindset

No it doesn't but they do nothing about that so it's not going to make an iota difference if people whinge about a baby shark.

While at the same time thousands of persecuted refugees are refused permission to dock their rickety boats so they won't die at sea. Even if it means just long enough to make sure they are healthy then sent back. Wow! Great way to show your 'land of smiles' concern for others and life.
