Marriage Visa 60 days extension.

Featured Replies

Only when applying for an extension based on retirement is the rule 2 months for the first extension and 3 months for every next extension. For an extension based on marriage each extension only requires seasoning of 2 months.

I was kind of thinking about going sunday or so, so I can get back to work asap. Are mondays usually very bad?

Also another question when I extend visa here wife also needs to sing on my docs, is this the case there as well. Does she need to sign every single document I have or only those that related to her?

For a 60 day extension it are only a few documents, but yes the misses must accompany you when applying for it.

Weird, last time in 2010 I went there alone for new Marriage visa and it was okay. Something has changed.

Thing is I have a 3 year old daughter but I dont want to take her there. It is not a holiday, probably have to leave her with my in-laws for 2-3 days.

Have you understood?

Are you aware that a 60 0 day extension is obtained from the LOCAL immigration office?

Where is it that you do not wish to take the daughter ?

I am talking abotu a 60 day extension from immirgaiton.

For a new visa (from a Thai consulate) she does not have to accompany you.

  • 1 month later...

I find myself in a similar situation as the OP except my NON-O visa was obtained at Cheangwhattana after "converting" from a double entry tourist visa and then 2 years of extension of stay supporting a Thai wife.

Can I get a 60 day extension from Chonburi/Jomtien immigration or will I have to exit/enter the country first ?

If you are living within Jomtien immigration's area of responsibility you can get a 60 day extension there. No need to leave the country.

Thanks for the reply ubonjoe

I report every 90 days to Jomtien so I'll try the 60 day extension a couple of days before my permission to stay expires...just in case they don't agree.
