According to the article, his wife said he did it to relieve pain. That's possible but if the lights go out he couldn't come back.

I used to get migraines that made me not care if I lived while they were on me. I can completely understand if he couldn't take it any more.

RIP to the guy and condolences to his family.

I as well see little value in living if every moment is filled with pain.

This one is way outside the box of my imagination.

This would never, ever make the suicide list in developed countries without a thorough investigation.

I am sure that in "developed countries" there is a special warning sticker on every fridge warning against the possible dangers of hanging yourself from a mini-fridge.

Hanged on a mini fridge

how tall was he ?

no need to hang from a high place. This happens all the time... people hang themselves from a doorknob, etc. Apparently they just pass out before they die.

From a solid door knob makes sense, but a mini frig, was it F*&@#@! bolted to floor what hotel is that? Check the DNA and she how many finger prints from the wife and was the body moved. I hope his Embassy checks into this. Another story of a Thai lover gone wrong.

This is not necessarily a suicide. A common self treatment for severe headaches that used to be called cluster headaches. Not to be confused with what David Catharine was doing in his hotelroom closet before his dinner meeting.

Who's David Catharine?

Ask any grasshopper!

"This would never, ever make the suicide list in developed countries ..."

Nice to know that some countries maintain a suicide list. But, not to worry. Here at Thai Visa the Bar Stool Crime Scene Investigators (BS-CSI) have never let any farang death slip through their conspiracy net.

Just tall enough that his feet could reach the floor when he was standing.

never seen lights in a mini fridge

I had one but bulb blow up and light gone

I would love for someone with access to the data, to calculate the suicide rate among farangs living in, or visiting, Thailand. If there are say, I million farangs in Thailand at any one time and one of them commits suicide each day (as I seem to read about them on TV with depressing frequency) how does that compare to the suicide rate in Europe?

If the rate were higher here--and that wouldn't surprise me--it wouldn't prove much because the people who move to the other side of the world to start life in an 'alien' cultural environment are probably not representative of people back home. Though there are countless reasons why people make the move, more than a typical number are escaping a failed marriage, a dissatisfying career, etc etc. They leave their 'social network' behind (if they had one) and are starting off 'alone' in a sense... when they're under stress, they may not have the deep friendships here to give them support. They may not also have a lot of cross-cultural experience before making the big move. As a result, the odds may already be stacked against them if they meet tough times here. [Of course, I'm not talking about everyone, just talking in terms of averages].

After so many postings, you should have some imagination skills.

But maybe, you only joking. whistling.gif

You think there is a relationship between number of posts made on TV and imagination skills? Ah, you've been reading some of more political ones who like to pretend breaking the law isn't a crime whistling.gif

I hope his family puts pressure on the Norwegian to look into this so called suicide. I was born at night but no last night! If it smells like bull sh-t it it is bull sh-t! She was causing his head aches!

Yes, watch out what your wife/gf is cooking you.

To any of the Family or Friends reading this:

Please accept an apology from me, and the majority of Foreigners living in the Kingdom, for the rude and inconsiderate posts you have seen here.

There is no excuse for it, nor can any rational person understand it.

Just know that for every one of these absurd postings, there are dozens of people who offer their sincere condolences.

Best to you, and prayers in this difficult time.

And watch out what her "brother" is adding to the food, once the house's paid, cars as well and sick mom has a new heart from a farang.

And please stop your Thai bashing comments, or I'll report you. biggrin.png .

You are talking about the majority especially those near or close to retirement. I thinks it's " nuts" coming here with no network and especially on a low income. This is a country that has many advantages but also many downsides for the isolated, those who suffer ill health, on low income etc..proper friendships take years to cultivate..finding a decent women can take years as well. This place can be tough.
