hi, i am currently writing a novel called T.i.T it s gonna be a fun novel based on own experience and others mixed with real facts. i need some informations as i am not anymore in the country ( i know i ve spend 5 years over there and starting to forget!) if someone is willing to help me!

I need a clear picture if possible of the small poster placed on the back of the driver's seat in the taxi. I know it s showing fares from cities to others but i need all the details.

the second information i need is the procedure at the taxi stand at the airport. Correct me if i am wrong:

- take the queue

- agent takes your destination

-agent writes on a recepit

- agent gives one receipt to taxi driver and customer

- customer go to the taxi

I forgot but isn t there a fee to pay at the stand?

thanks a lot! i appreciate all the help!

aha didn't think google could show those ahem.. thanks a lot! i ll be more thoughtful with the picture database thanks again mate!

only need the airport procedure, 50 baht fee if you take from the stand, if it s right. and it s a receipt given to customer and taxi driver right?

"This is Thailand" was coined by long time Bangkok Post correspondent Bernard Trink.

Best of luck with the book.

Remember, books about Thailand are over saturating the market. I know - I have written 4 of them..sad.png

That was poor writing ( the books toothumbsup.gif ). What I meant to say is there are allegedly too many books about Thailand already, but by all means do it anyway.

Which language do you intend using for your novel? Hope you don't plan on English, as you've got a lot of work to do there.

@jusme, i know i wrote at a fast pace with the bloody corrector on and didn't pay much attention to words or grammar as i was in a hurry.... but do you really have to bash me like this? Alright English isn t my first language so what?

i can't believe the numbers of threads with people bashing others just because of a few mistakes. we are on an international forum isn t it? we do our best to understand each others am i right?

I will just turn a blind eye and move on... and i ll pay better attention to details in the future.

The taxi procedures have changed. Now there are electronic kiosks. Most are for the regular taxis, some are for the SUV taxis. You (or an assistant who is sometimes there) punches you in, and you get a slip. On the slip, it tells you which taxi bay to go to. You go to that number bay and the taxi is waiting for you.

And yes, it is 50 baht for the airport fee.

Best of luck with your novel.

Perhaps you could have a character in your novel that sits at the computer all day and all night and bashes everyone.

I think you're on to something here. The character could be called Harry Putter [in true Thai knock-off style].

An author with no sense of humor.

So what is your native language?

You could write a novel about all those people in Thailand who think they know enough and have the unique insight to write a novel about Thailand.

Thanks for the update, the last time i got there (December) the electronic kiosks weren't installed yet.

Aha it crossed my mind a few times. Maybe I should? that could be funny!

umm not sure about that one... and not sure what to answer... are you assuming i know nothing or little about Thailand? seems you're not happy with people writing about Thailand.

I wondered why they were so uninteresting when I browsed through the Thai section.

Don't let the so-called thinly veiled TV pack mentality get you down mate.

There's a little exclusive, virtual club, and I didn't join it either.

A few of the erstwhile members even drink together on rare occasionsad.png then they can judge each other in person

But I don't like brown nosing to grovel up the mythical hierarchical TV ladder a wee notch or three.

He may have a sense of humor, but perhaps doesn't relish getting ganged up on and sh--t kicked by the 1973'ish Clockwork Orange crowd

But that would be approximately half the population of the earth**

Actually I've written 5 books on Thailand - I won't mention any of them, or the pen name I use, and you can't make me.giggle.gif

Do any of them break the 1 million mark on Amazon? (If you are John Burdett, the answer would be breaks the 500,000 mark)

My novel is in the planning stages as well.

However...I have selected a different Title....."Hubaphobia"

It is basically, about those people who decide to live in Thailand but become so cynical against the Thai Culture. Thai Visa has a plethora of information on this topic.
