Is Zenmate suddenly getting harder to use?

Featured Replies

Hi all, Is anyone else having difficulties trying to access uk iplayers in the last few days? All i'm getting is 'currently unavailable, please try later' when I try to watch programmes that are usually accessible. A service that I pay for has also been rumbled & results in a 'UK only' disclaimer appearing on screen when I try using it.

Thanks for any helpful replies:)

Just checked mine and UK Address connection working fine

Connecting is easy enough, indeed I can stream live tv but for reasons that arent clear I can no longer access iplayer(s).

Yup, mine has a disabling icon now showing, which when you click on it takes you to their premium offering. They evidently no longer want to offer it for free. If you click on the icon itself once or twice it does go back to normal. I assume you are talking about the free version.

It's doing that weird icon thing on both a laptop running Windows 8.1 and a desktop running 7. I have several other machines I haven't checked yet, but it seems to automatically do that with any machine it's running on.

They've been plugging their premium service but it's easy to bypass.

It's a funny old game-I bypassed it quite easily this evening :)

No problem here, but you could try Hola which is also working OK

It's getting worse, My preferred location was this morning switched to Romania. When I tried to change to UK I found that it was only available if I signed up. This seems to be happening at set times after initial install therefore I expect others to experience same in the next few days.

Further to previous post; the price for any that might consider signing up has more than doubled and is now set at Euro 6.49 per month if paying per annum or 8.99 if paying monthly. My original service (www.hide-ip-soft.com) is cheaper but I note my settings had been changed, presumably by Zenmate/Google and it's currently hard to use due to buffering or failure to connect. I shyed away from Worgeordies suggestion (Hola) as it required signing in & allowing access via a number of outlets that I don't want/use.

I'm in the process of booting ZM off all of my computers & will stick with my original proxy.

Hotspot Shield worked OK for me.

Hola uses your bandwidth for Botnets and should be avoided.

I've just reported on the other Zenmate thread running that I am now on the yearly subscription of 41.88 euros, using the discount offered to current customers.

That's a lot better; I might look again when my current service expires. In the meantime filmon.com remains ok for live TV or watching the odd programme or movie.
