BANGKOK: -- Actor Supakit "Man" Tungtatsawat, who appeared in a photograph with UFUN executives, told police yesterday that his name was misused by the alleged UFUN pyramid scheme.

He told police that he had never been a UFUN member, but had attended a meeting with its five or six executives to learn about the business model. He added that among the meeting participants was a Malaysian man named Alex, who claimed to be a leading UFUN member.

Supakit said he was invited to join the scheme by investing Bt17,000, but decided not to do so as he did not understand the business concept. He added that people wanted to pose for a picture with him and told him to make the hand gesture symbolising UFUN.

He later learned that this photograph was misused by UFUN people, wrongly suggesting that he was involved with the scheme. He said he did not file a police complaint, because the photograph was taken five or six months ago and he did not think it would be a big deal.

In the wake of this, assistant national police chief Suwira Songmetta is calling on other public figures or involved persons to tell the police if they have any links with UFUN, and if their testimony is useful, they will be kept as witnesses.

As for singer Kwannapa "Lala" Reungsri's testimony on May 23, Suwira said there was not enough evidence to identify her as a suspect, but that she would be used as a witness. Suwira also reported that 1,236 people so far had filed police complaints for damages worth Bt237 million. Of the 25 persons facing arrest warrants, 17 have been taken into custody, while eight are still at large.

He didn't think misuse of his photo was a big deal ?

Funny thing, most people in the public eye guard their reputation jealously and would have their lawyers all over something like this for even more publicity and of course damages.

No problems ' man ' just show your recent financials to see if any remittance have been deposited

into your account following that misrepresented photo opp, if none, you' be good to go man...

"Supakit said he was invited to join the scheme by investing Bt17,000, but decided not to do so as he did not understand the business concept."

You know what? I believe him.

"Supakit ....... added that people wanted to pose for a picture with him and told him to make the hand gesture symbolising UFUN."

Would that be the single middle digit extended or the more Anglo Saxon V sign?

"I went to a meeting to get to know their business model, but I could not understand her, so I brought her with me today hoping the BiB may have an idea..."
