Halion
If they do not step up to the plate then the Thai Military and Government should simply give these provinces self governance and then the locals will do the job that both the military and police have failed for decades. The truth about southern Thailand is a total disgrace to this country and highlights the level,of incompetence that is promulgated here,.

NeverSure
This is another elephant in the room for Thailand. There have been about 7,000 terrorist deaths down there in the past 15 years. That's far more than any western country.

Somtamnication
Even tougher at night. Why not cordon the area and have lookouts and wait until sunrise? Strange tactic.
Fat Haggis
This is another elephant in the room for Thailand. There have been about 7,000 terrorist deaths down there in the past 15 years. That's far more than any western country. What relevance does it have to any western country ? They are closer to the the Middle East, Iraq trumps this number tenfold As does Syria Go back and look at the death rate during the Sri Lankan civil war, which again is much closer to Thailand than any western country. Fat Haggis
Even tougher at night. Why not cordon the area and have lookouts and wait until sunrise? Strange tactic. Classic terrorist tactics, using secondary IEDs to kill the follow up teams, the last thing Thaiand needs is for the insurgents down there to develop their skill set to those of the Northern Ireland/Middle eastern types If that happens the death toll will climb faster than a helium balloon!! Don't worry. According to the many experts of TVF, the military administration has restored peace and order to the nation. There are few if any terror events now. All is well. I was reassured of this yesterday when I was accused of spreading fear and lies when I mentioned the increasing violence. It was all made up I was told. Let them have their own state, no help from Thai Government but warn them that ANY form of aggression will be considered an act of war.
