Just been told by a friend of a friend that their local shop/bar has some for sale Does anybody know if their local store of anykind has this for sale? 700ml bottle pls. Smooth- no burn- mellow, slightly fruity. Does anyone have a bottle (or tasted) Yamazaki 13 year old malt sherry cask? hellohello123 Posted November 13, 2015 Author Share Posted November 13, 2015 yeah the japanese whiskies have shot up in price, I managed to find 10 cases, but after shipping its still cheaper compared to what they are selling for locally and internationally. im not a whisky expert, but can the distillers simply release more ? The demand has exploded for Japanese whiskey across Asia, but there's limited supply, so price has to go up. I'm not sure the distillers can just increase supply so easily. For example the stock for the 18s was laid down in the 90s when whiskey wasn't as popular, and they can't go back in time to increase that stock. It's finite. But we don't know if Hibiki has other barrels lying around and they are keeping supply low on purpose which is also possible.
