BBC obtains video of Islamic State torturing Syrian boy, 14, Ahmed in Raqqa

SYDNEY: -- A GRAPHIC mobile phone video shows militants from terrorist group Islamic State torturing a 14-year-old Syrian boy.

The footage, filmed by a defector from ISIS and obtained by the BBC, shows the boy, Ahmed, being beaten while he hangs by his wrists in the Islamic State-controlled city of Raqqa in Syria.

The United Nations has said that Islamic State and other armed groups in Syria and Iraq of torturing and killing children and of recruiting, training and using them on the battlefield.

Inside its self-declared caliphate, ISIS has eliminated secular education and created military-style schools to indoctrinate children and train them to kill. ISIS propaganda videos show children, some as young as five, undergoing drills and learning to shoot.

Ahmed is blindfolded and his feet hang off the floor as two masked men, dressed from head to toe in black, pace the ground in front of him.

They are all based on the same roots:

1. Make as many followers as possible.

If needed to achieve your goal, use force on the non-believers.

2. Keep the followers as dumb as possible.

Only teach them the Holy Book and avoid everything else.

3. Make the people donate as much as possible to fund the weapons to achieve point 1.

Perhaps the fact that 700 million Muslims are illiterate might have something to do with it. As long as there's someone sounding simultaneously insane and authoritative to tell them what to do after rendering themselves concussed by Friday night prayers all is clear, so to speak.
