In all seriousness, what you really want is an owner trainer. The dog already has what it needs and you have to know how to handle it when the paid trainer isn't there.

Don't turn your dog over to a trainer but rather have the trainer show you how to handle the dog. If there are others in the household, they should be there too. The trainer demonstrates to you and then you do it. This is the only way you'll know how to handle the dog and the dog will learn to see you as the master. The dog can learn to see everyone in the house as the master, even children.

Some trainers want to keep their techniques a big secret which is a losing situation for you because you would then fail with the dog.

Good luck.

That's a very good point. She definetely thinks she's in charge of this household and I'm way too soft with her!! I still need help though, so if anyone out there knows a trainer or a place where I can take her it'd be much appreciated.

Thanks for your reply
