PATTAYA: -- In the early hours of Monday, a 40 year old female motorbike driver was killed in a single-vehicle road accident in East Pattaya.

Police and medics rushed to the scene of the crash, outside of the Suanseen Mapyailia Restaurant in Soi Neun Plub Wan just before 1am and were confronted by a horrific scene.

The body of Khun Pridarpon, the motorbike driver, was lying on the road. Due to the extremely high speed she was allegedly travelling at seconds before the crash, she suffered a catastrophic and life-ending head trauma and broken limbs.

Sad.

And another proof that not only young hooligans speed like mad for nothing.

I doubt she had an urgent appointment at 1 in the night.

I suspect she had some wine cooler though.

People on motorcycles (especially locals) seem oblivious to danger, there lack of road sense is all too often seen sad.png

I really do not understand why Thais have to drive as fast as they can (not as fast as is safe). What is the hurry? I was recently in Laos and people drove at a leisurely pace. It was wonderful after the madness in Thailand.

RIP to the rider; but once again today is this really national news? Over 20 people die every day in motorcycle accidents in Thailand.

Note those in uniform facing the camera to ensure their faces appear in the media.

So what? It's not unusual to look at the camera if you're one of the subjects.
